“I am immensely proud of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s remarkable achievements in the logistics sector. This recognition on the global stage is a testament to our nation’s commitment to excellence and the dedication to becoming a leading global logistics hub. Bahrain’s strategic position and robust infrastructure make it an ideal gateway for businesses looking to access regional and international markets,” stated HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Duaij bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
Bahrain has made significant strides in the Logistics Performance Index 2023, ranking 2nd in the Arab World and 34th globally, a remarkable leap of 25 positions since 2018. This achievement is attributed to milestone projects and initiatives in Bahrain’s logistics sector, including a substantial rise in the ‘Timeliness Subindex,’ ranking 2nd in MENA (10th globally) for speedy aviation import processing. Bahrain also leads the GCC in minimizing delays in import and export.
The World Bank report evaluates trade logistics across 139 countries based on key factors like customs efficiency and infrastructure quality.
This accomplishment aligns with Bahrain’s Economic Recovery Plan, aiming to become a top global logistics destination and increase the sector’s GDP contribution to 10% by 2030. The Logistics Services Sector Strategy focuses on regulatory improvements, infrastructure development, policy enhancements, investor incentives, and international partnerships.
